Does DodMerb also post/cc to the parents email account of the prospective cadet of upcoming medical requests/exams? Since the parents email is part of the app, I'm hoping that we will get word the same time that our DD gets word...Ok DS has all checks in the portal...when should we expect a DODMERB appointment?
No...My son set up an email account that he uses exclusively for SA/NROTC and college stuff and had it set up to forward all emails to house account.Does DodMerb also post/cc to the parents email account of the prospective cadet of upcoming medical requests/exams? My two cents worth (first, let me state that my DD is an AFA candidate, not USCG, so it may be different for your DS); DD never received an email telling her to make a DoDMERB appointment. She just went to the DodMETS site and logged in and all the information was ready for her to make an appointment. She then just followed the instructions on the site, made her appointments and was qualified two weeks after completing them. So, if your application is all complete, it seems to me you should be able to do the same. You have nothing to lose by going to the DodMETS site and creating an account. If your information is not in the system, it will say so (ask me how I know ). The first time she logged in it told her she could not be found. The next time, all her information was populated and she made her appointments. The account is based on last name and social security number. Good luck and congratulations to your DS for completing his application.
DS received a set of instructions in the mail with info as to who to make appointment with. With USNA, this mailed package usually arrives after 50% of the online application is completed. After submitting the USCGA app, I recommend waiting a couple weeks to allow for the "speed" of the military to mail the required DoDMERB paperwork. The USCGA may follow a different process compared to the Naval Academy, so asking the Admissions Officer for a general idea of when that package will be mailed out will be very beneficial.
Upon receiving the package, make sure the instructions are followed within a week. It will include instructions for logging into DoDMETS as well as the required location for the physical screening and eye exam.
Just in case you did not know, DodMERB and DodMETS are two different sites. You make your appointments through DodMETS and your exam gets sent to DodMERB after it is complete. You have to register an account on both sites. My two cents worth (first, let me state that my DD is an AFA candidate, not USCG, so it may be different for your DS); DD never received an email telling her to make a DoDMERB appointment. Thanks a bunch FalconsRock! It makes sense to check the DodMerb website. Apparently DD will meet up with her Admissions Officer next week during his visit to her high school....hmmm sounds like I need to swing by and see whats cooking...exciting times!!

Good to hear it only took 45 mins....I was thinking "hours" like back in the day!DS DODMERB physical instructions arrived by snail mail on Tuesday and he filled out the paperwork. Had the physical and hearing part on Wednesday. They sent us to a storefront, routine emergency type place where we just walked in without an appointment. The physical took 45 minutes where they took a urine sample, but no blood. Will schedule the eye exam for Monday. These exams have changed quite a bit since I had mine back in 1984. Back then it was an all day experience!
A package from dodmerb or uscga? After the dodmerb email. Can I expect a package in the mail?
