Does anyone get accepted to USMA from Delaware?

I'm looking at the appointment list and don't see a single appointee from DE. I also remember my RC saying 1 to 2 gets in from DE each year. Is it that hard to get in as a Delaware resident to compete against other people from around the nation, or is there just a general lack of applicants from there?

It seems to be proportionate to the size of the state. Is it fair to compare the appointment numbers of a state like California to a state like Wyoming?

2 senators and 1 house member - likely 3 per year. Possibly more based on other nominating sources.

SAF usually has 10 to 15% of appointments on this site in a given year.

SAF is a small sample size, and not necessarily a random one. So I wouldn’t base too many conclusions on what’s reported here. Delaware is a relatively small state, so stands to reason that USNA representation is also relatively small. But definitely not zero.

Blue Hen here - looking over the last couple of years, it seems DE starts to see appointments around mid March. It “seems” West Point is not as popular in the state as USAFA due to Dover AFB, and proximity to USNA. Delaware is easier to get a nomination compared to its neighbors such as MD, PA, and NJ because of small population. DD received 6 total nominations, 1 from LBR, 2 from Coons, and 3 from Carper.
