Does getting a scholarship help your chances of getting into a school?

As a fallback to a SA, there is another great college that is very competitive that I am looking in to. I was curirious to if I am awarded the ROTC scholarship, will it increase my chances of getting into that said college?
 
It depends on the college. Usually an Ivy or other very competitive school won't care, but some who are hoping to grow their units do care. Totally up to the school. The cadre at your school or an admissions counselor there would know.
 
One other thing to keep in mind. It may be March or even April before a decision is made on awarding you a scholarship. Even if a scholarship does help at the college it may be too late to make a difference. Keep working backup plans.
