Does a congressional Academy nomination necessarily have to come from your district??

You may also get it from your Senators, which are state-wide.

Yes for all but USMMA (where it just has to come from your state) and USCGA (which doesn't require noms).

You will hear tales about how MOCs "trade" noms, how "So and So" got one from another district, etc. However, it's not legal and thus I am inclined to disbelieve the rumors. For USNA, USMA, and USAFA, the law is clear that MOC noms must come from the state of your (usually your parent(s)') of legal residence for Senators and from your Congressional district of legal residence for Representatives.
