I believe Project GO did count as Training several years ago when my son did it. Even if it doesn't count, it should be a no brainer if DD/DS is so inclined.Anyone know if an 8-10 week strategic language Project-GO program abroad counts as training/activity on OML, particularly since CULP has been indefinitely suspended?
Love this! Yes, DS quite inclined. I’m just wondering if it impacts only Language/Culture or hits “Training/Activities” too, since it IS an ROTC program. He’s looking at other summer ROTC options and doing a semester abroad, but if ProjGo counts for both, he might do better to not go abroad for the semester. Sounds like it might be both!I believe Project GO did count as Training several years ago when my son did it. Even if it doesn't count, it should be a no brainer if DD/DS is so inclined.
Remember GPA is most important. My son received credit, which freed up a class in his schedule. If one doesn't get credit, then it should improve performance in the foreign language classes back home, which would be an enhancement to one's GPA.
Benefits of the overseas experience are broad and immeasurable.
It took several years, but his experience then is applicable now everyday.
Can't answer that. Best to talk to PMS/ROO.I’m just wondering if it impacts only Language/Culture or hits “Training/Activities” too
Thanks for asking him! DS is reaching out to coordinators today. Can't answer that. Best to talk to PMS/ROO.
If I talk to DS, I'll ask about his situation. I may have been wrong; that it was actually Language/ culture instead of Training. It was a while ago, but if there was any chance to double dip, he would be the one to pull it off.
Best of luck to him!

Hi @MohawkArmyROTC, Can you tell us for which majors the Academic Discipline Mix points are given? STEM and nursing, but anything else?Project GO would fall under Language/Cultural Awareness under the Academic Outcomes of the OML model. However, the Language/Cultural Awareness and the Cadet Training/Extracurricular Activities both max out at 5pts, so there is no real advantage for Project GO to be considered training. Here is the FY22 OML Model:
