Does the DoDMERB need to be submitted by the same deadline as the candidate kit?

My candidate kit is due on the 31st of December (I already have it done). My medical is my last checklist item, does this need to be done within the time frame too? I just injured my thumb and am worried I’ll get disqualified for it even though its temporary.

My answer is no, but your appointments should be scheduled by the 31st at least. When I emailed my ALO he said that it is something out of my control so it would not be due by that date. I suggest emailing your ALO to be sure but as long as you are moving forward and probably have those appointments scheduled, you are probably okay. The only things that are not in your control are the DODMERB and nom so those if any should be the only things left unchecked at the due date. I would probably wait for someone else to respond just to be sure. Hope this helps!

In addition if it's a temporary condition I'm confident a DQ, if any, would be lifted once you healed.

Your pre-candidate questionnaire is required to be in the Admissions Office by 31 Dec

All other deadline dates are located in your Admissions Portal

DoDMERB determination is NOT required by 31 Dec. :wiggle:

From my experience applying this year, there is the candidate kit deadline (mine was 1 nov), then the alo interview, dodmerb, and cfa had a different deadline. But do not delay, all three of those took wayyy longer than I expected to schedule and execute.

From what I gather from the Instructions to Candidates booklet and the email Admissions sent regarding deadlines, DoDMERB does not have to be finished by your deadline. DoDMERB is the only part that technically doesn't have a deadline (other than being before the April 21st deadline of appointments) but you won't receive an appointment until you get DoDMERB finalized. Hope this helps!

DoDMERB is experiencing limited staffing. The sooner you complete your exam the better.

FACTS:

My answer above is correct.

DoDMERB is not experiencing limited staffing. It is the holiday period. DoDMERB was closed 24 Dec and will be closed 31 Dec.

Applicants should always complete ALL requirements, DoDMERB included, without procrastination.:wiggle:
