Been seeing many posts on here consisting of anxious parents and kids that are hopeless. I was one of you a few years ago but actually ended up winning the 4 year Scholarship in April.

Here were my stats.

Unweighted GPA: 3.00
ACT: 26
SAT: 1820
Took six AP Classes.
Ran track and Played football didn't letter in Varsity.
Only in one club- Academic Bowl
Moral violation: Got suspended for a day my freshman year for fighting .

My GPA and my other activities were not high, I was not expecting to get any sort of scholarship. I initially one the Ike Scholarship which would mean that I would go to a two year Military School, I didn't want to do this so rejected the offer. At that point, I lost hope for winning any sort of scholarship. It wasn't until April that I found out that I was selected for the 4 Year! Do not lose hope, sometimes good news comes at the most unexpected times!

Note: It's also never too late to improve, I have a 3.7 in college now!!

I apologize for my terrible grammar coming from a future military officer.

I have been lurking on these forums the entire year - first on the USNA one (DD got rejected in March), then on the USCGA one (got that rejection April 1) and now on the NROTC one. She is still waiting to hear about NROTC and her portal says no decision yet. She will commit to Ohio State regardless, but I'm just wondering if there is a drop dead date to hear.

From my experience, the when NROTC lets you know your rejected then you will know your out of the game. If nothing yet, your still in.

DD might consider contacting the unit irregardless so they know of her interest. If she hasn’t already, they can make sure she is informed of upcoming events. Go Buckeyes!
