Dress Blues

My son's unit wanted all the MSIV's to have the dress blues by end of January.

He still uses the school issued one when he preforms with the color/honor guard but now has his dress blues for when he commissions May 2nd.

Is there a Uniform Allowance? I have heard/read differing opinions about this.
As much as I would like to hook up my son with a wad of cash, I am happy to still have my house. My DS older brother is also graduating in May, so 4 years of college for 2 kids has tapped me out.
My DS may be getting a set of weapons to put in his golf bag..

Sorry to say that for AROTC there is not a uniform allowance for the dress blues.

Not for officer dress blues only enlisted get an annual allowance. Officers always pay, it's tradition and based on the fact we make more money. You get a one time allowance which is generally spent on ACUs and not blues.

Marlow White with tailored alterations and fancy service cap was $651.50

They have tailors that go around the country to tailor uniforms for new officers. Super convenient and well done!

It sounds like my DS and his fellow MSIV's are all making a road trip up to Ft. Campbell to get their Dress Blues. I guess this trip is a Rite of Passage and tradition for Vandy cadets.
