Dress socks

I apologize ahead of time for yet another socks and underwear thread, but I am wondering what socks to get for beast. The packing list specifies all-black dress socks with no logos, but I don't know what the best brand is to buy for use with low quarters. Does anyone with more experience have suggestions for what brand/model dress socks to get? I'm hoping to get a relatively high quality sock that won't give me blisters.
 
I really like the black Reebok crew socks I ordered on Amazon. $20 for a 6 pack, and the only logos they have are on the bottom of the foot, which is fine.
 
My DS said the socks they issue you are good. The underwear on the other hand were tough.

Mine said the dress socks they issue are horrible. That the white socks and boot socks are ok.

My rising Yuk has been using goldtoe athletic white for PT/running, black for low quarters, Fox River black boots/liners for boots. Last winter he used wool socks for low quarters. He does not want to change to any different brand.
 
When they say black dress socks, do they want specifically dress sock style or can we get black athletic socks? I’m worried that typical dress socks will be too thin and get worn out quickly, whereas black athletic socks will last longer and look about the same.

My DD bought all her boot socks in black so she could wear them with boots or low quarters. She got fox river and cushioned darn tough wool. She liked the darn tough for low quarters as the cushion helped to prevent blisters she thought. Said others had lots of blisters on rday and that she had none. Maybe the socks maybe not. She also washed her black socks in the sink and let them hang to dry. Said she got 2 days out of the Fox river and they dried faster and the darn tough got about 4 days between washing but they took about a day to dry thoroughly.
She also said the issued black socks were awful but the issued white socks and boot socks were decent backups.
 
The black socks they issue us are not the best, so I would highly recommend buying your own comfortable socks. Hanes is what I use. I know that this summer we will be walking around a lot and it would be to your new cadets benefit to have cushioned socks. those low quarters are very hard on the feet the first couple days.
