I know this sounds really ridiculous but as of late I have been thinking of handing in my full AFROTC scholarship (I am a freshmen so that means no payback) to join AROTC as a noncontracted cadet. I am confident that I can get another Army scholarship as over last summer I won both an Air Force ROTC scholarship and a Army Scholarship.
The reason I want to do this is because AFROTC isn't quite what I expected it to be. There isn't a true brotherhood (at least in my detachment), people just follow orders, march, and show up to PT and class.
In Army, I know I can do other stuff like Ranger challenge and I also really want to jump (can I do this is AFROTC)?
Any guidance would be appreciated. Maybe it's just me thinking its greener on the other side.
