Okay so the lt. col at my detachment stated that about 2200 cadets are going up for EA slots and that around 2100 slot are being given out, and its 144 detachments.

--How do you think they will cut the last hundred or so?, my detatchment is pretty credible, our field training prep is one of the best.

-Im still worried that im on the edge, i hav a 2.87 cgpa (tech major) i go to a rigorous university, its private ,but got a 3.2 gpa last semester if that means anything. I will have a 90 or 90+ pfa score (recently decreased nearly a minute on my mile run!) and idk where my cc ranking will be, but hopefully its the middle cause i am doing good. I have a wing job and the cadre knows I've been working hard.

What do you think?

It is not necessarily about your det per se. There is a specific formula that they use and you compete against everyone in the nation.

The formula includes your cgpa, your PFT, your SAT/AFOQT and Commander's ranking. You have left out one part of your equation your SAT score.

Your cgpa is low compared to the national avg, especially if you are a non-tech, however, the key word is avg.

I would ask what was the avg cgpa for your det last yr. If it was common for 2.8 cgpa's to get a slot than feel good.

My concern for you is not your cgpa, but your PFT. That is low too. The thing is next yr when you go for your AFSC board, your ranking out of SFT will be part of the equation. If your PFT is low at SFT, your ranking will be low.

I would really start training. Alabama in July is not pretty. It is 100 degree days with lots of humidity.

Good luck.

So this 2100 cadets going up for EAs is concrete? I've heard a million and one different things and our cadre keeps mum on this type of thing.

I'm also an AS200, and I dont really think theres any way to tell at this point how many are going up for slots to FT due to the fact that the nomination deadline is not until late Feb.

The only thing to me is the math. Are you saying there are only 2200 in a yr group now? If so, that means the avg det would only have 15 cadets as C200s. That seems incredibly low. I get that number for 300/400s, but not 100/200s.

I would think the number is higher than that on an avg., when you start adding in large dets that are at places like ERAU, VT, Notre Dame, PSU, etc.

Thus, Cody's post has a point. It would appear that the det's will submit their list and if you make the nom selection, you will most likely get an EA.

Are you sure you were told 2200? Our detachment was told that approx. 3200 cadets were going up for EA slots, and only 2100 would be given out - 65%...
