Early action deadline

DD was also accepted to USAFA on Sat 1/18/14 (3 days after getting a deferral letter in her portal). She is still numb from the exciting news.

To those of you still waiting...May God fill you with patience, perseverance, and HOPE as you wait for your news; and may you all recognize the quality of the persons you ALREADY are, to have made it to this point. :thumb:

To All Those Deferred....Stay Positive

DS was Deferred on 1/15/2014, but today his portal shows an offer of appointment. The Offer is dated 1/17/2014. So to everyone that was deferred, stay positive. Your good news may be right around the corner.

DS just received appointment!!! 24 January, 2014

DS received a letter of deferral on 15 January. This morning he received an email notice of appointment dated 17 January. We are bouncing off the walls!!

Of the many things I/we have to be thankful for, I am very grateful for all the the notes of encouragement and support from this group.

Thank you all very much!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to all of the new appointees!!!

I am still so excited when I see your precious messages about your letters of acceptance (appointments) to USAFA. On March 2, 2012, we received my son's BFE and it will be a day that I will remember until the end of my life.
The joy, the tears, the rejoicing, that our family experienced will always be miraculous! I truly understand how difficult it is to WAIT...and I understand how remarkable the young men and women that are finalists for selection to USAFA are...and I can say, "THANK YOU PARENTS FOR REARING SUCH AMAZING SONS AND DAUGHTERS!" I am proud to be the parent to a C3C and I am proud of every single candidate that applied to the Air Force Academy and am thankful to every single appointment to the academy. It makes me proud to be an American and proud to be a parent, and proud to be part of this forum.

So excited to read this! My son was dissapointed when he received his deferral letter. He just received a letter stating his medical waiver has been granted so this thread gives me hope he may not have to wait until regular selection for an appointment!

DS was in similar situation. His waiver was granted about 2 days before the EA deadline. Even though he was deferred on the 15Th, he got email on 24th to check his portal and the portal had a date of 1/17 for the offer. So stay positive.

For those who recently received medical waivers from AFA - would you be willing to share the date the waiver was originally requested by admissions?
Just trying to see if these are tracking chronologically?
And congrats!!

I know some people didn't have waivers requested until recently, but I received notice on 11/4 that USAFA requested a waiver and I found out on 12/10 that the waiver was granted. That's just the timeframe I had, to give you an idea.

Here's how it tracked for our DS
9/29 USAFA requested Waiver
DS had 2 issues so it took until 12/2 to resolve
1/9 Waiver Granted
1/15 - Deferred
1/17 - Offer of appointment

GOOD LUCK
