Early Action Decisions

I can’t imagine the jobs of admin and the AOs to scour these amazing applications knowing the desire in each kid to serve in the USCG. Must have been extremely hard. I hope they are finally enjoying the time with their own loved ones this holiday! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each of you! 🎅🏼

Will Decision letter be located in Message Center on Application page in Bears Den? Or will it be on Bears Den initial log in page?

I don't know if it will alleviate (or perhaps add to) your anxiety, but I wanted to let everyone know that we concluded all Early Action (EA) reviews yesterday and the majority of our recommendations have now been approved by the Superintendent. We anticipate all EA decision letters being posted this evening, but some may not be available until Monday if the record is still under review. The Admissions Officers and the rest of our staff will be taking some well-earned time off over the next two weeks, so we hope that you're able to do the same. Happy Holidays from New London and congratulations to the 189 direct appointees and 40 CGAS appointees...we're excited to have you join our service this summer!

Thank you @ Objee. DS checked portal and it was not what we were hoping for- deferral. Still hope in RD round. Is there a way to get feedback on where his record was not strong enough? I assume reaching out to AO, but hate to be a pest at this time of rest. Thanks.
 
Checked BD. DS is being deferred to RA. So, still hope! He just got back his much improved SAT scores yesterday. Uploaded those but too late for EA. However, now has time to work on PFE which he is confident he will improve Since he has been doing two-a-days with his team and on his own. So fingers crossed for round two! Any other deferrals? Now we need a deferral thread! 😂 have a wonderful pre Christmas weekend everyone! Safe travels and God Bless!
 
I'm not Objee, but the Applicant Handbook said that 75-100 would be offered deferrals. That means that a large number would be rejected.

@Objee Can you please provide an update on number of direct appointments and CGAS appointments offered through RA 1 April deadline?
