With only a couple business days til enrollment, we're two months after being DQ'd and still waiting for a DoDMERB decision on a waiver.

Should we expect a flurry of decision activity over the next few days, or does the govt machine simply grind along at a routine 8-4pm pace without regard to the implications for applicants?

At this pace, it looks like we'll be forced to pay deposits at two schools to cover our bases. Is there any history here of a school having mercy and refunding a deposit when a ROTC scholarship offer was withdrawn?

We're at 2 months since being DQ'd also. I contacted the office in charge of Waiver Reviews and was told they are working as fast as they can, but LDAC waiver requests are being reviewed first.

Once while my family was despairing on a serpentine airport security line, a TSA person sought out people whose flights were leaving within 30 minutes and rushed us through. But that was an exception.

My son was already on campus and participating in ROTC as a freshman before his final waivers were granted (his Dodmerb exams didnt occur until March). I can't say I would recommend this kind of gamble to everyone, but it was the only school he had applied to. While the uncertainty of your situation is uncomfortable and expensive depositwise, you still have some months before critical decisions have to be made.

I'd be surprised if schools refunded deposits.
