Enrollment Forms

So DS was ROTC qualified via DODMERM last night. If I said that correctly. He needed to provided AMI several times. He submitted the final piece last and was notified about 30 minutes later. Talk about a happy camper!

He received Enrollment paperwork today and its due in a week. He received a 3 AD, so the first year we are paying for.

What would be the hurry? Anyone experience this in the past.

I would expect something like get this back before Spring ends.

Perhaps so that they know if he is going to use that particular scholarship, or if they have it yet available for another student?

Or perhaps to avoid everyone turning their stuff in on the last day…to keep the whole process moving along?

IDK. But I’m team ‘get ducks in a row’, vs waiting.

That's awesome! Congrats to your son! I'm still new to this so I'm curious - is he currently a 4/C non-scholarship MIDN? Or he already finished his freshman year and is a 3/C now?

My son won the Army 3AD last year on the 2nd board and did his DODMERB right away. Came in handy when he was upgraded to 4AD and didn't have to scramble to get it done!

He is into day 2 of his college experience. So a brand new to college.
Won an AROTC 3AD on the 3rd board and is non contracted.


Also playing golf for the school on partial scholarship, so that's some additional stuff to juggle. Which the school, Coach, and ROTC have been great about.

Totally get that as did he. He was cleared as of yesterday through DODMERB. He got a stack of papers from the Battalion. They had gotten notified by DODMERB this morning that he was good to go. All paperwork is due Aug 25 which is even before the first picnic. I could understand if he was a 4AD, but as a 3AD wasn't sure he might get upgraded.

Reason for the question. Knowing him he will just knock it out.

The paperwork is to enroll you into the ROTC program. You need to be enrolled in order to be issued equipment, participate in PT, lab and other military training. You also have to be enrolled in order to receive the scholarship. If he doesn't enroll this Fall semester, he could lose the 3AD scholarship. Enrollment is just a step in the process. The goals if to have all new cadets enrolled in the beginning of the semester.

Yup, there will be paperwork! I’d advise to have him fill it out promptly. DS received a 3 year AD scholarship last year that will be activated this year (he contracts Monday!). He had to fill out lots of paperwork. I told him that it is good practice for when he gets to the Army .
