Expected Hear back after Nomination?

Hey everyone, my portal just updated today and I received my nomination. Does anyone know the average time it takes to hear back from the admissions team? (speaking from experience) *I am 3Q’d*


Also does USMA value types of nominations over others. For example, does a nomination from a senator look better than one from a congressman/woman or does it not matter at all?

From what I’ve heard, a nom is a nom so not really. Also, it’s hard to know it’s still early in the acceptance cycle so just be patient. I had an LOA and I had to wait months following being 3Q’d so there is no way to really know.

Being 3Q with a nom puts you in position to win offer of appointment — or not. It’s still a tough competition at this point and a lot depends on where you sit in the pecking order. A decision can come anytime between now and April (and in rare cases, even after that). Best to take a deep breath, tend to Plan B, and enjoy time with your loved ones.

Oh, and a nom is a nom is a nom.
