I am confident I’m going to be about 3-4 percent over the 26% max body fat for women. I already lost 8lbs in the last 2 months after I realized that I was accepted. Should I be worried? I saw in appointee kit they are going to just put me in a remedial program. My last time I taped my self I got 26.9 percent but when another professional does it I think it’ll go up.

As long as you are above the weight standard, and then above 26%, then you WILL take a remedial program. But don't worry, USAFA has top nutritionists and experts that know how to get your body in healthy shape in a quick, yet safe, manner. However, they are super strict about losing weight TOO fast, because being in shape for Basic is more of a priority. If you lose too much weight, they will give you Boost protein drinks. And here's my top advice: DON'T purposely skip meals in order to achieve your desired weight. The fitness/nutrition people at USAFA estimate that you burn 4000-5000 calories during basic (but whether that includes your BMR, I don't know). During the small 10 minute time frames (yes, ten minutes!) that we get to eat, ideally you would get in 3000 calories, so you're already at about a 1000-2000 calorie deficit per day. This means you should burn off a 3500-calorie pound of fat in 5-6 days. The deficit and the consistent PT we do will make sure we lose fat and keep a decent amount of muscle.

Wonder if you would know… What if you come out literally 1 pound or less over the weight limit? Do they tape you? Asking because this is a possibility for me and I haven’t taped myself

Standards are standards and over is over. If it is just 1 pound, then there should not be an issue with the tape. Don't worry because BCT will take off the weight.

To the Op, did you meet the qualifying standards of the tape test during your physical? If you were below the 26% a few months ago and are now closer to 30% you may have an issue. If your BMI is close to what it was when you were offered admission, you will be placed in a program that will help you get there. I would caution that the military places a great deal of emphasis on physical fitness and you need to commit to that lifestyle or you may struggle with this your entire career.

My DD was over the weight limit by 3 or 4 lbs at I-Day last year (might have had something to do with all the great food we had on our 2 week vacation in CO right before;)) and they didn't tape her then. Actually during BCT it wasn't even mentioned! She is muscular and also well endowed so will always be close to the cutoff. She was never a toothpick. After a year she still hasn't been taped.
