What happens if a cadet with a scholarship fails the PFT? Is there only one chance or is there a deadline?

I believe that they give you chances up until you sign your contract. So if you can’t pass it by then, you won’t contract and they’ll probably make you pay back the scholarship money. I could be wrong though.

Actually, you will not contract and the scholarship will not kick in until the PFT is successfully completed. So, you could end up owing the college for the first semester if not completed by a reasonable deadline in the fall.

Go prepared to pass.

What are the current contracting standards with the new tests in limbo.

On the paperwork I received to contract this coming fall:
3. The physical fitness assessment for contracting Cadets will be the Cadet Command
Fitness Assessment (CCFA). The CCFA consists of the 1 minute of push up, 1 minute
of modified sit up (hands placed on opposite shoulders), and a 1 mile run. The chart
below shows the minimum standards for contracting.

Events

Push Up Male 30 Female 13
Modified Sit-up Male 35 Female 30
1 Mile Run Male 8:00 Female 10:00

As an 18/19/20 year old male or female, who just does the basics every morning of pushups, sit ups and taking the dog for a jog- the above should be very easy to achieve.

Just out of curiousity, aren't there deadlines depending on whether you have a 4yr or 3AD scholarship that you are required to pass the test by to hold on to the scholarship?

I'm sure there are but i have no idea what they would be. Your focus should be on passing sometime first semester, but not too late during the first semester or you may miss the tuition "boat". Your cadre will be able to inform you of deadlines.
