Falcon Foundation Scholarship Recipients

I'm starting this thread so that Falcon Scholars have an idea of who has also received a FFS and which prep schools they'll be attending.

For those not aware of what the Falcon Foundation and their scholarship is:
The Falcon Foundation was formed in 1958 by a group of retired Air Force officers, it's a non-profit organization whose mission is to help motivated students achieve their goal of attending USAFA by providing Falcon Foundation Scholarships each year.
The FFS is a scholarship towards any of 6 prep schools (Greystone at Schreiner University, Kent School, Marion Military Institute, New Mexico Military Institute, Randolph-Macon Academy, and Northwestern Preparatory School) and covers almost all tuition/room and board.
The number of Falcon Foundation scholarships awarded each year is set by the USAFA admissions office, with a max of 100 awarded each year.
You cannot apply for a FFS, it is awarded to those who qualify for admission to USAFA but are not receiving an appointment.
Upon successful completion of prep, if the recipient continues to meet admissions guidelines and obtains a nomination, they will be offered an appointment to USAFA.

Sorry if I wasn't very thorough, I had to quickly type all this up.

The Northwestern Prep Class of 2022 is open for enrollment. We are accepting applicants from the Falcon Foundation, Naval Academy Foundation and WPPSP at West Point as well as “Free Agents”.

In defense of the NWPer’s of 2019..the 2019 season brought a 15 year record snowfall for the area which caused a severe power outage for approximately 7 days...very limited resources and minimal heat. The group worked together to clear waist deep snow and get by until roads were able to be cleared in a remot3 area..all while continuing those grueling 200 word vocabulary test, study hall by candlelight, and the Durbeck’s leading the charge all while locals were in a panic. So the comment about the blanket and warm coat were hard earned in the usual tame San Bernardino Mountains by the Class of 2019...Teamwork Prevailed.
Oh Goody, another day in which to excel! Northwestern Prep School is open for enrollment for the class of 2022.

Did every Falcon Scholar receive an email for the appointee events today? My son is a Falcon Scholar and received an email invitation which included the in-person events. I am trying to see if all Falcon Scholars received the same email.

Yes the same thing happened to me

Does NWP offer scholarships to those applicants that didn’t receive Falcon scholarship? My son just sent in his application to NWP. Looks like a great fit for him. 🥰

I believe they do. Reach out to Mr. and Mrs. Durbeck. You can find contact info on the NWP website. Good Luck!

Thank you 😊
Our DS received a FFS on Friday, accepted it, and is planning to attend NWP! He is very excited about this opportunity as are we!
My DS just got the email he was accepted to NWP. So excited for this next chapter in his life.

Did anyone else's FFS acceptance message disappear from the portal and get reverted back to the candidate checklist?

I got a voicemail from my congressmen today congratulating me on my "direct appoint to the United States Air Force Academy class of 2026" and I thought it was a very nice of him to call me, but he must have meant my FFS and not an appointment; an honest mistake.

So I went to check my portal just to make sure nothing had changed and the message saying, "Welcome to the Falcon Foundation" was gone. Already emailed admissions to try to see what happened, probably just a weird portal glitch, but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar thing happen to them?

Thought I would post this here in addition to the congrats and chatter 2026 thread.

We didn't get a call from our congressman but the "Welcome to the Falcon Foundation" also disappeared on my DS portal. It's must be a glitch in the system. Please share with us when you get a response back the admissions.

Wow! Congratulations! Did they update your portal?
No, they said that the official acceptance letter would be on the portal on Monday. The call was in response to the email correspondence I had with them regarding the Falcon Foundation Information disappearing from the portal.

do FFS recipients receive something in the mail along with their acceptance?
