I have an interview scheduled with a field force rep over facetime for tomorrow. Am I supposed to wear a nice shirt and jacket for this? Or is it supposed to be casual?

Thanks!

Wear something nice. They will only see your upper half so don't worry about shining your shoes or anything, but it is important to make good impressions

You can never make a mistake dressing nicely.

I say dress as if the interview were in person, pants, too! You feel more confident when you are dressed for success, not in jammie pants. Do a trial run with facetime and sound/background. Have your resume in hand, and try to avoid saying 'um' or 'my bad'. Good luck!

if I were advising my DD/DS, I would ask them to shine shoes as well. It's a package and you not only want to look good, but feel good, calm and confident. Why to leave a stone unturned..

I would agree. The FFR will likely ask to have the camera scan the room to make sure no one else is present, especially parents. Why risk being caught in your pajamas bottoms with a tie on?;)

I would discuss the timing with the FFR and it really depends on the schedule. If we are meeting on a Saturday morning I may expect you to be dressed a little different than if I am meeting at your school and we will use the counselor's office. Like anything, one size does not fit all.

My DS was told that his interview would be via facetime and to just wear a nice shirt (I'm sure each interviewer handles these differently).

What were some of the talking points, questions if you can share.
Mine was pretty short, 10-15 minutes, he told me to expect this when he emailed me. He face-timed me, I didn't have to initiate it. The first question is obvious, just why do you want to go to West Point. After that, he asked me about the most important trait for a leader. Then it was focused on me, he asked some questions about the fire service and how I think it will help my case, then a little about athletics and extracurriculars. At the end, he asked if I had any questions about the process or West Point. Don't expect all of them to be the exact same because they will likely personalize it some, but everyone will definitely be asked the first two.

Mine was at panera, still dressed up like I would for a senatorial interview. Conversation could last all the way up to 1.5 hour depending on your RC's schedule and when the next person shows up. The person after me showed up 30 minutes late so I guess it wasn't a good day for him.

There was an Informational briefing by Admissions, FFR was there, so DS did it after the briefing...suggestion to future 2025 applicants, go to briefing. You should not have to ask what to wear, our DS never once said "what should I wear?"..Its the USMA!!!, how could you even think of wearing anything but suit and tie/suit/dress...others showed up in jeans, sweat shirts, seemed ridiculous to me...your FFR graduated from USMA so this is your first impression. Just feel unnecessary question.
DS received his appointment 06/February...he also saw applicants at Congressional and Senatorial interviews with no tie, just unbelievable, but maybe we are old school here....

Is the FFR interview essentially pass/fail, green light/yellow light/red light? In other words, an exercise where if you bomb or raise red flags you could be tanked, but if you otherwise do fine, you get to the next level.

Do you get some type of grade? Is a good FFR interview weighed in any way for your overall WCS score or during admissions discussions?

From what I understand, The FF Intenterview serves as a screen. If they don't think you are a qualified candidate, West Point likely won't either.
