I think I already had mine? Is it the one where you meet your FFR for the first time? I didn’t even know it was an interview, I just thought she was being nice and wanted to help (which, I mean, not much different tbh).
But what we discussed was my resume, if I would be a good fit for USMA, if I was prepared to jump 20 meters into water (i forgot the exact height), how I should go about the application, etc. I honestly think they do those to see if you’re a good fit for USMA and if you’re prepared to go through 1. The process of applying, and 2. The challenges if you get in. They don’t want ppl quitting halfway. She also told me some funny stories.
For me it was pretty casual, at a local coffee shop, and she was in normal outting clothes (for a woman slightly older, which I feel like tends to be a little more formal than, say, a high schoolers normal outting clothes.) I wouldn’t suggest wearing normal outting clothes. I wore business casual.
Obviously, idk forsure if what I did worked or not, but we’re still emailing and she’s helping me with my application as well as notifying me of updates and events.
So, I would say just be honest. The mindset I had going into it was, if I’m not right for USMA, then it’ll be better for me AND West Point if she doesn’t see me as a good fit. Don’t try to “say the right things”, just be honest with your intentions, goals, background, etc. because (I’ve heard this from others, and I agree) they’re really trying to do what’s best for West Point, and if you’re a good fit they will help you achieve your goals. And if you realize you being honest sounds like it’s not for the right reasons, then maybe West Point isn’t the place for you (no rudeness intended). It’s a good chance to reflect on whether or not you’re in it for the right reasons.
