First Wave already out?

Just got the following email:

Due to a computer glitch on 6 February, candidates’ offer statuses were visible on the candidate portal five days earlier than expected. Your offer of admission will be visible on your portal again on Tuesday, 11 February. Please check your portal then. We apologize for this inconvenience.

DS just got the same email. Congrats to candidates, pulling for those who have yet to hear.

DS just got it too. I bet someone's boss is p!ssed-off at USMA. I'm glad I'm not that guy!

DD did not get that email and so maybe no BFE. Trying to be patient. I only saw one appointment from our state on the list so maybe it still might happen in this wave. (There should be at least 10 slate winners this year from Colorado.)

If you are not following the West Point Parents page on FB, you should. There are many FB pages for West Point moms and dads--to help navigate the acronyms and events and hunt for pictures of your child--but West Point Parents is the official USMA Parent Liaison. She has a message for families receiving the BFE...

We're in the same boat (one on list from state and no notice/email). We are in a different state though. *Fingers crossed*

Dear @Momtoranchkids --Listen, it is a marathon. This first wave is a LOT of flair! Lots of it...thrilling. However, appointment season is just getting started. There will be a steady stream until around 1 May. You do not know/cannot know when your child will hear. If he is 3Q with a nom, the odds are in his favor (or her favor--but I think you are a boy mom, like me.) So, chin up, happy face, enjoy this time...West Point or ROTC at a university, your kid will be living somewhere else this time next year. Keep Faith. ❤ And GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!

Oh, the Live Streaming is the best. It is unreal. My 2016 was in the first live stream of Branch Night. We were using Periscope in those days--and did a first test--everyone downloaded the app and we all spent the day trying it out to make sure it worked. It was like a dream--to be in that room at such an exciting moment and witness the energy and joyful reward for years of hard work and dreaming. So, yes, Live Stream has definitely improved our ability to feel like we know what our kids are doing on this journey...although, My #1 managed to avoid video or photo capture for the full 47 months--I never saw him in anything/anywhere...he had friends, he was on a team, the report cards came to the house, he got the ring and the diploma but no photographic evidence...and then, after graduation there was an article in Forbes about best colleges--and there was #1 standing in line for graduation clear as day. Worth the wait.

Thank you!! I have both a DS and DD- but it is DD who is the candidate. (She is more like a DS actually, LOL) She is 3Q and has 3 noms to USMA. And a good Plan B with the AROTC 4 year scholarship (Cornell). The waiting is far tougher on me!
