First wave of BFE's?

Did the first wave officially come out? I heard something about pictures being posted on the admissions page...

For the past couple of years, they've posted pics of the appointments getting sent off to be mailed, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will this year. Appointments started going out last week and continued this week.

There is no "official" first wave. However, a large number of appointments just got released. If or when the admissions office post pictures of appointments to be mailed out their Facebook page, they are just providing a confirmation that a large number of appointments are being sent out.
 
DS found out that he was offered an appointment last weekend, but as of yet no BFE? anyone know how long it takes to receive after finding out?
 
With the weather we've been having here in the northeast, I wouldn't be surprised if there are mail delays.
I know it's easy to say sit tight, but BTDT, it's not easy!!
 
Believe me it's worth waiting for. They do a really nice job with the presentation of the appointment- it is a rigid jacket with large picture of West Point on one side and the appointment diploma of sorts with their name in large font on the other. My son didn't let it out of his sight for a few days, and has proudly shown it to many family and friends. It's a special thing and it's great the Academy treats it as such.

DS learned last Thursday that he had received an appointment (from the MOC) but no BFE until yesterday. I think the snow storm slowed things down. Definitely worth the wait, though:)

Depends on a couple of things -
1) Are you 3Q
2) Where you are on the nomination slate.

If you are the slot winner and are 3Q, then your file will most likely be reviewed for admission soon.
If you are not the slot winner, then you will have to compete for your appointment off the NWL and then it depends on how high you are on that list. Those on the NWL are ranked top to bottom by WCS.
So many variables unless you are the slot winner.

Received an appointment this morning! Was 3Q and had an LOE already. The nomination was not ranked so I was unsure what my standings were
