First Wave of Non LOA Appointments

This thread has been a teachable moment for me. To be clear, I really appreciate the input from everyone since I did not serve and am new to the WP selection process. And I'm 100% sure all the comments on this thread are made in good faith and many based on info from people with apparent authority to predict when the first big wave would roll in. Several of my close family members have served or are serving, however, and they reminded me of the concept of scuttlebutt. Which suggests that it is best to believe little of what you hear and only half of what you see -- until directly told what is about to happen by someone with actual authority. I will try to keep this lesson in mind as this process lurches slowly forward. If our DS was aware of the predicted timing of the first wave or anxious about it, he did not let on. He did better than me in that regard. So, good training for future selections.

Clearly ya'll missed my post. Go hug your DS Or DD, spend time with them. The next 159 days of our lives will fly no matter what happens with the next wave. I for one am be smothering my kiddo as much as he will allow

Did he turn in his 7th semester transcript yet? Or did he get a decision without turning it in yet?
I assume you mean first semester. MMI is a junior college with a service academy prep program. Their Fall 2019 transcripts were available in December.

DrMom just updated this about 20 min. ago; check out her thread for info and photo... good luck to you...

So, here it is: 599 BFE's that were sent out today: (From West Point Parents' Facebook Page)

No one can say how many offers will go out to bring in the correct yield for the desired class size. However, I bet someone on the forums will know. My guess...to achieve 1200, and this is about 600, that there are 700-800 appointments left. But I don't know. A lot of the kids apply to multiple academies and sometimes they break legs or get into Harvard or MIT w/ ROTC...

Haven't some applicants already recived appointment though?

Yes but probably not that many. @BobSanderz No one knows...right? Its a guess. So, now you can guess or ask others.

It's 2-day priority mail usually right? So, within 2 days that BFE will be in our hands i'm assuming? :D!!!
I live not too far from West Point (~2-3 hours) so does that mean I could get it tomorrow?
