Today is my father’s 86th birthday. When he was a kid, he thought everyone put flags out to celebrate his birthday.

I never forget his birthday!

Richard "I Made Rambo!" Crenna had just turned 18 years old when he served as a US Army infantryman in the Battle of the Bulge.

Via the wonderful GI Bill he, like millions of others, got a college education after the war. Had a 50 year acting career before he died in 2003.

My favorite Richard Crenna performance was in "Body Heat" in 1980. "First Blood" 1982 wasn't bad either.
