Foundation student just got the call

Yessss! Good news. Foundation and Naps are great ways to put yourself in a position for an offer of appointment.
I love a good ending.

DS just got the call from MOC congratulating him on his appointment. He was told that USNA will be contacting him shortly regarding. Foundation students do not have portal access.

I didn't know that foundation students didn't have portal access. That's some old school pins and needles, right there. ;)

While NAPS/Foundation midn-cadets are doing school at NAPS or at their respective Foundation school, the Prior year USNA application Data is “Preloaded” into the Current year application .... The loading of the data from the prior year archive is done before the NAPS/Foundation students access the system for the 1st time, which should have been last month in March. They should have accessed the system only this one time to initialize their application and set a few values.

I can remember DD telling me last year after Spring break that all the mind-cadets at NAPS in Newport went into the System — as a group exercise — and entered a few miscellaneous pieces of information, and then they received their Student IDs for the current application year.

After she did this, she said she could see her new Nomination from our local Congresswoman for the current year.

All the data except the MOC nominations transfers over from the prior year archive. They have to reapply for MOC nominations ... but of course, we know that NAPSters will receive a SECNAV otherwise.

NAPS/Foundation students don’t access the system 100 times a day .... they don’t have to .... they already have a Seat in Annapolis if they finish their respective programs.

This is great news! Especially when you are worried about passing up a National NROTC Scholarship to commit to NAPS or Foundation. I am still waiting with USNA application under review. Haven't received the dreaded TWE yet. I probably just jinxed myself. I take it back. Regardless, KEEPING THE FAITH and Fly NAVY!
