Hello everyone, I was hoping if someone could help clarify a current problem I am having with sending off my college transcript.

My official transcript was not posted until the 10th of January and that was the earliest I could get it sent off but unfortunately the registrar’s office messed up my transcript and didn’t count some of the classes that I was enrolled in which dropped my gpa. This problem was only resolved a couple of days ago after constant communication with the office and trying to explain to them that I desperately needed my transcript by a specific deadline. Now I am rushing to get my transcript sent off and I am afraid that I have run out of time and my application will be closed by the deadline.

Does the transcript need to be received by the 31st or does it just need to be postmarked for that date? I’m so incredibly angry at my college and even some of the higher ups said I was the only freshman that had this problem because there was a glitch with my ap credits being counted instead of my college credits even though that shouldn’t matter.

I’m sorry if I sound impatient but it is incredibly frustrating when you have spent the past couple of years working towards a dream and it could all be over just because of a glitch. I will also be calling academy admissions to try and clarify my case.

Thank you in advance for your help.

+1 to @RM78. This is a critical enough matter that you should not be relying on anonymous posters on a public forum to give you the scoop. Go straight to the source: USNA itself.

No, you're good. If you watched the college re-applicant presentation they put on about a week or so ago, they clearly state that as long as it is postmarked before Jan 31, they will accept it. Mine did take about a month to process though. I would email your admissions counselor just to let them know.

Thank you everyone for your help. I will be sending an email to my admissions counselor today just to inform her of my situation.

can you also get one of your college counselors to email USNA admission regarding their error?? I read if you need to update an application it should come from your school counselor because they are a third-party that can verify an update/corrections to your record.

assuming you are at college now? if so, i would recommend getting the official transcript personally (they usually come in a sealed envelope with an official stamp of some sort) then personally sending it overnight mail

you can get two copies so you can look at the second one and make sure it's correct

i wouldn't rely on the registrars office to send it regular mail in time

DD is dual enrolled. Her universities sent her transcripts via email direct to USAFA. One transcript posted to her portal the day after we received notification that it had been sent and the other university's transcript took about a week to post to her account (but it was sent by university earlier). Your university should be able to do a same-day or next-day transaction. Or you could also express mail an official copy with signature required/tracking.

USNA does not accept electronic transcripts. It has to be via mail and it can take weeks to process, especially at this time. All information directly from my counselor.

Had a problem with college transcripts as well. As long as they postmark it by the 31st you're good to go. I sent mine on January 8th and they didn't submit it until January 22nd.

Gotcha. I guess your only option is to send via mail, but it sounds as if you have plenty of time to comply.

I like A6E Dad's advice. My niece was a college reapplicant a couple of years ago. She got her transcript in a sealed envelope and my sister (her mom) drove to her school to pick it up and sent it fedex to USNA. You'll be able to track receipt for your peace of mind. Niece did get her appointment.

Thank you very much to everyone who gave their input to help resolve my situation.

Just to update everyone, I did in fact order overnight shipping and also sent an email to my admissions counselor as well as my blue and gold officer just to make sure they were informed. Hopefully it will be updated in the coming weeks and then the real wait begins!

Sent transcript overnight on Saturday morning and checked portal last night to see that it had been processed and am now currently CPR. For anyone who has this problem in the future, please follow the great advice in this thread and do not be afraid to spend some extra money getting them delivered overnight. I believe I spent around $80 ordering my transcripts and then getting them sent overnight which is a small price to pay for such an important process.
