My daughter was just notified that she was selected for Girls State. I have noticed that Girls State/Boys State holds alot of weight in the application process. It's listed on the USNA Class Portrait.
She already submitted her NASS application - my question is when can you update your application to reflect these changes?

I believe you can. Contact a Regional Director. Also, choose BS/GS over NASS.

A couple of caveats to 2016. I could agree if there is a schedule overlap between GS and NASS that cannot be corrected by a conversation with your RD; you do have three one-week sessions of NASS. Also, if you can't circumvent the schedule problem, push really hard for a CVW or look for a sports camp of interest. You really do NEED to visit the Yard to see what it offers.

Thanks for answering! I will have her contact the RD to attempt to update. The dates don't conflict - she can attend any of the 3 weeks for SS and then GS is the following week.
1964BGO - My daughter has already attended a CVW last year and does have plans on attending the sports camp also this summer!

Do both if you can, but Girls State hold a lot of weight. If you can't do NASS do what 1964BGO is advising.
