Great Father's Day Present Ideas...for the procrastinators

I have a great idea for MY dad. Struggling to find a great idea for my kids for their dad. He really wants a grill and has been looking at them for a while but he keeps saying he wants to wait until we have a better outdoor area to protect it (that's on our future project list).

So what do you get the Scoutmaster/Outdoorsman who buys pretty much whatever he needs/wants?
 
Depending on your price point. some favorites from my Scoutmaster/camper DH
  • Black Diamond head lamp (under $50)
  • Collapsible/packable Therm-a-rest cot. Prices vary. DH loves it. Small enough for backpack camping. We have even brought with us for family trips, much more comfortable than a roll-away. Tip - if you get one, watch the video before you attempt to assemble ;)
  • Big Agnes foldable camping chair

How about some Luci lights by MPowered?

I ran across them in Lowe's several years ago...and now have several! Darned things are just good!
 
You can have fun just passing out cash. My buddy got married later in life to a woman that also had a full home and life when they met. For the wedding I went to one of the stores they registered at and bought three toasters, wrapped them all together with a gift receipt and told him it was an interactive gift certificate. For another work wedding I gave a guy a 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 dollar bill (back when $37 was a fair amount of money.)

Or just donate to something in their name. After I'd been dating my wife long enough to be trusted, I was added to their family Christmas gift circle. My first year I drew the one sister-in-law that adamantly refused any gift given to her, but she laughed when she opened the card from Heifer International declaring that bees and chickens had been purchased in her name.
 
Make a secret FB group and invite every friend and relative.

Then do a copy and paste onto Word and send them to Staples. Buy a $5 folder that can hold 50+ pages and you have a great gift.
 
Although my kids are all out and off on their own, I do miss them BUT, I'm always away on Fathers Day. My state's Boys State starts on Fathers Day and the staff (including me) start at noon on Saturday. We start letting our statesmen in at 7:30 on Sunday and its very fast paced after that. During breaks in the action, I love getting greetings from my own kids on my phone including (this year) one from a submarine at sea but the gift of hundreds of young high achieving and motivated kids into a program that I believe in is a great Fathers Day gift to me.
