Good morning all and congrats to all those who received appointments. Sadly it looks as if my DS will not be receiving one. On to plan B. I have enjoyed coming to this forum as it has helped us learn so much about the process. Also it has been a great coping mechanism with the waiting process. Best of luck to you all and for those who didn't receive an appointment, stay positive, stay focused, and don't give up on your dreams.

I agree. I have learned so much over the past year through these wonderful service academy forums. Best of luck to the Class of 2021 appointees!
 
Same here. I understand how you feel. No change on son's portal this morning. :( He is taking it better than mom. He just went for a long run and is real quiet. Beginning to look more and more dismal here. So excited for all the appointees and their families. Hang in there.

The waiting game has been crazy. But no, we did not receive formal notification of not receiving an appointment. It's just from what I've read about portal updates being done today, I was assuming today was the day to find out. His portal still says candidate. Maybe I'm just being a little to negative. I apologize if I caused any unnecessary anxiety. Theres just so much unknown that goes with this process. But like I said, this forum has been amazing and I'm so glad I found it. Thankful for all of the people who share their knowledge of the process.

I know. My son is so much more positive about things. He's already getting ready for plan B and getting ready to reapply next year. He was up at 0500 working out before school. We are all lucky to have such great kids. Best of luck to you all. Stay positive.
 
You haven't caused anymore anxiety than what every one else is feeling this morning when they got up. We are all here waiting together. The forum has been great for first timers like us- I'm just sorry I never joined before now to ask more questions and network!!
 
And here's the news: even if Junior is not appointed this year, a great year at Plan B school, with reapplication, will be kindly considered next year.

While I cannot predict the future of course, one of my twins was not appointed until almost May, with identical stats to his twin brother.

So... grab a beer (not you kiddies, just your worried parents), and go watch some basketball (after filling out your bracket in buff81's challenge). :)

Check last years appointment thread! As long as he hasn't received a rejection, he is still in the game ! Hello from a fellow Jersian!!

A classmate of DD in HS and now at USAFA didn't get her appointment until early May. Don't give up.
