Guess this place ! (Post your photos)

Been there, so not guessing. We used to have a big rock that we carried to the 9'-0" bottom of the pool and back when I was a kid. On it, was painted the name of this castle. You had to walk from the shallow end to the drain at the deep end, and back up to the shallow end and set the rock on the edge of the pool. It was a great game. ;)

Okay, this one goes out to to all the 'bubbleheads' in the crowd.. It's a famous submariners bar.. I need a name and location. bonus points if you can give me the original location.. 🎵We go up, we go down, we don't even...🎶 well you know the rest.. 🍻

The only submariners’ bar I’ve been in was the one in ancient Lockwood Hall at Sub Base Pearl. I don’t think it was this one, but for some reason, I don’t have clear memories.

@Capt MJ Sorry, but no cigar.. You're in the right ocean area though..:)

Perth? Equally hazy memories there. Just SWAGging away here.
Nope.. we're talking Pacific Ocean area in this case.. Perth is in the IO.. Hint: the place won't capsize as one congressman feared.. Oh, and Comsubron 15..

Forehead smack x 5. Guam? I am embarrassed to admit I have a sponsor daughter there on a sub. To be fair, I have not been in that club if that’s where it is. Only by reminding myself from your clues where we have subs these days.

@Capt MJ It's in Guam alright.. 👍 Now I need a name of the gin mill.. Google might be able to help you on this one..

we have a winner.. The original was outside Hunters Point Naval Shipyard.. It then moved to Vallejo in the early 70's.. When I was a cadet at the California schoolship my classmates and I were known to patronize the Horse & Cow on more than one occasion.. There's also a Horse & Cow in Bremerton as well as out in Guam. Here's a picture of the Vallejo H&C back in the '70s [It's still a bar, but it's now known as Gentleman Jim's].. 🍻

I don’t have any service-related locations because i never served. But I have a connection to this photo, that may be pretty easy for some.

Could be almost anywhere. Except for the fact that it looks like a small island, it looks like it could be the North Shore of Long Island where I used to do a lot of blue fishing. A lot of Sandy Bluffs on the North Shore around Eatons Neck. My wife’s family lived near there since the 1600’s.

edit: does anyone know how to fix the “uploaded file is too large” issue on iPhone?
When you are starting the Attach Files sequence, and you’ve selected your shot from photo library, tap the “actual size” area at the bottom of the screen. Tap Actual Size to get to size selection. Selecting Medium usually works fine. Hit Done. Proceed as usual with Add, etc.

Once the photo loads, if it doesn’t show up right away, tap the upper left of the little photo box where it says Insert, and you’ll get a choice of Thumbnail or Full Image. Pick one then post.

I can write out in more detail if need be.
