Happy 74th Birthday younger sibling. My dad spent nine years in the world's greatest Air Force and like many who got out after that long, later said he wished he had stayed in. My earliest memories are from base housing at Pope Air Force base where my uncle Arnold was stationed next door at Ft. Bragg.

No-Hope Pope!!!

The quiet, clean, mannerly neighbor of mine for years.

And their A/C was always working.

Go figure.......

And we celebrated by going to the range today and "making a joyful noise unto the Lord" and we were glad.

I guess it's a family tradition. One of my uncles was an original Airman - Army Air Corps photographer in WWII, and was just the right age to see service in the USAF in Korea and Vietnam.

I went to the medical treatment of chemical and biological casualties at Aberdeen and Ft. Detrick years ago and learned this from a renowned Army colonel.

The Russians developed an anti-facility agent that affected the different U.S. services in different ways. It destroyed the Army's tents and associated equipment making the U.S Army ineffective as a fighting force. Since the Marine Corps gets all the Army's hand-me-downs then, see above. The Navy would be assaulted with an anti-metal agent that caused immediate rust on the ships making them ineffective. The agent planned for the Air Force was a chemical that burned golf course grass which on it's face, should not cause a degrade in military readiness. According to the Russians, the Air Force would be so distraught at the loss of their golf courses that their budget of weapons and planes would be drained due to the rebuilding process.

Had a Squadron clerk with the best AFSC in the Air Force 30xyz "Scratch Handicap". Every time the General had some visitors the call came down. Sgt. X report to the club house.:thumb: He was a nice guy though and not his fault. Probably wound up at the Pentagon as a Mustang.:D
