It's been a long, tough and rewarding journey for our C1C DD, who started at the Prep 4.5 years ago. Today she finds out the next chapter in her life. Best wishes from very proud parents.

They do not know what the parents go through until it is their turn.

Amen. I was seized at my desk for about an hour waiting for the boy to call.

So very true. After AFSC selection you wait in the Spring to hear what base they got. Then for pilot candidates you wait to hear what track they got. Then you wait to hear what airframe they got. Then you wait to hear what base they get after FTU. Then you wait to hear their next assignment base. Then you start waiting to hear about promotions. It never ends......

    Congrats to all.

That was an interesting article, especially this one tidbit regarding USAFA.
~~ Additionally, these candidates could move through a truncated version of Undergraduate Pilot Training, further reducing the timeframe for getting new pilots into their specific airframes.

This would be interesting to see how they will do it from an operational standpoint. Do they make one UPT base the truncated school? Do they just add them in between the longer classes?
