Brother, I'd love to see you hang around here. We need more good Woop-types, and I'm afraid I've grown rather fond of your take on things. Even if I disagree at first, you've always made me think, and I appreciate that more than I might have ever let on.

Welcome Shogun. Those others looking for a parent's social club where candidates are a pesty hinderance and the truth is whatever they, with limited to no knowledge or experience, deem correct, are at the wrong place. Again, welcome.

From Zs post I assume you got banished from CC. That is too bad. Especially for responding to that venom spitting snake. The moderators were not very helpful either. They basically defended his right to spew the venom (in PMs to me).

If this is what happened, I hope you two will continue to give your opinion on USNA admissions etc. on this forum. When you were assisting a candidate on CC, it was obvious that you really cared about helping the candidates. And when you were defending the USNA it was also obvious that you cared very much about the NA.

But most of all, thank you for your service to the USA to give us all (including the venom spitting snake) the freedom to post here and not be afraid of government intervention.

Yep. Finally got the boot. Badge of honor, considering the circumstances.

When the Mod contacted me, he asked me why I thought the venom-spitting snake was the return of someone else. I replied and got banned. Reckon they agreed more with his bile than my logic. So be it.

I'll do what I can. It's a bit frustrating that so much of what I knew is now obsolete, but to make up for it (and with a little present and future guidance from USNA69) I am seriously considering signing up as a BGO. We'll see.

No way was it a slam on you. One of my favorite words. Had to explain it's meaning just Friday to one of my classes. Your word is golden to me.

Changed pesky to pesty, just for you. But pesky is much more effective.

What's wrong with CC?

Man, I go to Europe for one week, and I come back and everyone is banned from CC.:confused:

I made a fairly innoccuous comment over there today, and the next thing I know, I'm getting the "Gypsies' warning" from xchefmike who told be to be careful. I guess I missed all the Sturm und Drang when I was out of the country. The post I commented on was edited by the moderator, and mine was deleted.

Thank goodness xchefmike told me to "watch it". I don't want to be banned from there, but honestly the PC stuff is a bit much.

Looks like censorship is alive and well over there...

There is a group over there who thinks that social commentary is more important than factual information. Since the mods know absolutely nothing about the academies, they are actually aiding this movement. These individuals commenced to report posts and posters they didn't like. Since they reported so many, the mods became irritated and developed a "zero tolerance" for reports and automatically banned the poster making the reported thread. My routine became (1) Find some dangerous misinformation, (2) Attempt to correct it, (3) Get banned, (4) Explain my position to the mods, (5) Get immediately reinstated. Repeat above. Again and again.

I am tired of it. Between the deleted posts getting so chopped up that no one has an idea what the original discussion was about and losing, what I consider my valuable time in actuality contributing to nothing, since it is gone, I quit. They can wallow in their own misinformation. It takes a lot more time for me but if I see a specific candidate being mislead, I will PM him. Have about a half dozen going at any one time. I have both been called the Supt in mufti (actually, I considered this a compliment) and clueless. A few of the new parents just don't get it.

As for me, it was

(1) Find some stupid statement made by some neo-socialist moonbat whacko.

(2) Tell them I think they are a neo-socialist moonbat whacko (just stating facts).

(3) Get contacted by the Mod, asking why I think a certain neo-socialist moonbat whacko is a the same certain neo-socialist moonbat whacko who has been banned there and here several times for being a neo-socialist moonbat whacko.

(4) Answer Mod.

(5) Get banned. Permanently.


Screw 'em. If they want to listen to that crap as well as all the other incorrect BS, they can have at it.

I'd just like to chime in and say I'm so glad I found this board FIRST - I've hopped over there since and yikes - LOL. !

And speaking of Yikes- "Z" - Do you have a date set yet ??? :yllol:
 
The other CC forums that I have visited are not nearly as rancorous as the USNA forum. There is one parent there (maybe it's more but idk) who seems to get people banned. She has a daughter who is cadre now. It surprises me how she uses her daughter's position and proximity to bully and intimidate other USNA parents - especially plebe parents. Too bad.

I rarely visit the SA forums at CC anymore.

I cannot fathom why people who have so much in common do that to each other.
