Hi! My son is a senior and has applied for the NROTC - Marine Option Scholarship. We have been anxiously waiting for MONTHS! He applied with the October boards and then again with the February boards. He's been accepted to 7 colleges (5 NROTC schools). His top picks are CU-Boulder, University of Nebraska, and Norwich. Norwich has offered him a great merit based scholarship, but his first choice school is CU-Boulder. He is currently in the DEP program and attends PT and Pool functions regularly. We are very anxious to find out if he received the scholarship - if not, he has many hard decisions to make regarding DEP, out of state schools, Marine Reserves, etc... This forum has been a great source of information.

Hey I'm from CO too! I applied and got accepted to CU-Boulder and recieved the 4 year NROTC scholarship but I turned it down about a month ago cause I was accepted to West Point. Hopefully you guys pick it up! Good luck!

As for your son's plans...Norwich...I have a "former candidate" that is a senior there now...came from the Phoenix area...thought he'd go to ASU...but Norwich...

He has been SO happy there...I can't tell you how so! Well I could but it'd take a LOT of space here!!

Don't let your son discount it out of hand...if he wants to 'chat' with a Norwich person, I could probably get him in touch with "my guy."

Colorado is a great place! I went skiing there a few times (Winter Park).

I hope your son gets everything he wants! He wants to be a Marine Officer? That is interesting! I know this is too early to ask (as in, he might probably change his mind...) but does he know what MOS he wants to get?
