Im a highschool junior, when should I start applying for nominations and do you fill out an academy application after or before you start the application for moc nominations. I wouldnt be asking this but ive failed to find a good description from google. Also an off topic question, do acadamies look at subject sat tests? Thanks in advance.

Not sure which Academy you're interested in, but at the top of the USMA section there is lots of helpful information as well as several timelines and "to do" lists.

timeline

Start by searching for each of your representatives: Congressman, and two senators. Each of their websites should have a tab or section on academy nominations with information on particular dates and requirements. Most don't accept applications until Spring of your Junior year in high school.

Best of luck!

Remember MOC noms are not rolling, they have a cut off date, and nobody will receive a nom from them until after that cut off date. Most MOC's are starting now to close out the applications.

I would suggest you do not send that application until the fall because you don't want to get it mixed up with LY noms, or lost in the system.

If I were you I would spend this time and apply to the SA's you want for the Summer programs...it is only opened to rising srs. This will allow you to do a trial run at the SA's to see if it what you want.

As Pima said, you want to open up a candidate portal, at least thats how it works for WP, by say summer. Once you can start working on your app get it done ASAP so you can qualify for things like LOAs.
Then work on your nomination packets and get them in by august. I was really early, sending them in in July, they didn't get processed until Sept.
I know USMA does not look at Sat Subject tests, not sure about the other schools though.
