Hopeful USMA Class of 2028 : a place to play the waiting game together.

I have already accepted my USAFA appointment and turned down my 4-year NROTC-MO appointment, but I have really been surprised by the lack of communication from WP admissions. I was 3Qd and placed on the NWL with a primary MOC and Pres nom on 25 JAN and have heard or seen literally nothing since then.
Is your withdraw button still there or gone? You are guaranteed an appointment with a P-Nom.

It would be a fantastic opportunity and a golden ticket. My DS has accepted a Falcon Foundation Prep for USAFA. They can accept that offer and decline it later if they are appointed to an academy this cycle.
Plan B includes a NROTC scholarship, so we're extremely grateful for that. I just don't know if we should get our hopes up with the idea of prep school. I think our AC was out of town last week, so it may take a while to hear anything. It's my understanding that admissions sends a list of recommendations to the AOG. I'm not sure what to expect communication-wise. Until then, we move forward with NROTC and try not to obsessively check the portal.

Have you made a decision on a prep school for DS?

You are doing the right thing. DS chose NWP for his Prep school. He is really looking forward to it. He had a 4 year AROTC scholarship that he will turn down for the prep school. He is holding onto a tiny bit of hope that the VP nom he found in his portal will turn into a late appointment at WP.

Not sure what you are talking about with a guaranteed appointment with a Presidential Nomination... but I have never seen a "Withdraw" button anywhere on my portal for USMA.

P-nom = principal nomination not presidential nomination

PNom was in reference to you saying you had a primary (principal) moc nomination. If you truly have the principle nomination from your moc, then they legally have to appoint you if you are fully qualified.

Ok, got it. Thanks

Good luck to your DS! Have enjoyed your positive/encouraging messages during a stressful time for everyone. Wish I had found this sooner :)

Anyone know when the mass TD wave usually is based on past years? I couldn't find much.
DrMom said it would be sometime this week. Makes sense, considering we are in the last full week of this admissions "season"

I just received an Email from my Senator's secretary congratulating me on my appointment!!!!! For all of those still waiting, don't give up hope. I had thought that there was no chance that I got in, I had already moved on with plans to attend Norwich University, but then out of the blue I got my appointment. Keep the faith!
Awesome! It's great to see appointments still going out! Congratulations!
