Hopeful USMA Class of 2028 : a place to play the waiting game together.

I don't know for sure, but most on these forums say SAF represents 10%. There are 91 that have posted appointments on SAF. That would translate into roughly 900 appointments to USMA.
The 10% number is the percentage of appointments at the end of the cycle. There are still many more to come.

If SAF represents 10%, then it would represent 10% now and 10% at the end of the cycle. If there are 900 already appointed then there are probably 600 appointments left to go out. Roughly 300 have or will decline and that would leave 1200 acceptances for the class of '28. Again, just my guess and opinion if the 10% number is really representative of SAf.

In reality it’s way more variable then that, I doubt it’s hit 900
If it is at 900, that would leave 600 more to go out. About 300 will decline, leaving roughly 1200 for the class of '28.

We are at a very competitive district. I happened to know that our District already had 4-5 USMA appointments so far. Not just one slate winner. Our district use primary nomination plus ranked candidate method. The rest of candidate maybe LOA, athletics or NWL.

in my opinion, those that post on SAF are more likely to be more competitive due to having knowledge about the application process already (being more likely to post, LOAS, ect). I think the 91 appointed to USMA being 15-30%of the already appointed seems more accurate at the current timeframe, with the 10% being at the end of each application cycle

So you are saying that only 15-30% of the appointments have gone out?

No im just guessing. I just received my TWE (didn’t finish my application nor receive a nom) from West Point a few days ago, which leads me to make this assumption that the bulk of applications haven’t been reviewed yet

For those who have gotten an appointment off of the NWL, how did you find out about your appointment. Was it in an email, was it a phone call, or did you just see a change in your portal?

By mailed out, do you think they mean the BFE? or a notification in the portal?
BFEs will/should be mailed out end of February, as well as notification at the same time as mailout. Though, arrival of BFEs may vary per candidate.

Appointment showed up in portal, later in the day contacted by FFR and couple of days later phone call from RC.

No call from MOC, I was just checking my portal Friday morning as I so frequently do and it said "Congratulations, you have been offered admission to West Point!" My RC called me on Monday to congratulate me and I got the email and official correspondence in my portal 2 days after that.

Our congressman called my son on a Tuesday to notify him that he was receiving an appointment. The official acceptance showed in the portal on Thursday. He received a really nice acceptance in the mail the following Wednesday.

Do you think that today or next Tuesday was when the admissions board took up or will take up that big batch?
