Indeed, no news is just that...no news. Your kid is still Schroedinger's Candidate. It should never come to this. How is everybody holding up today? We're trying to adopt the thought that no news is good news. However, DS is wants to and is trying to get excited about Plan B, but is struggling with this hope still dangling. Does anybody have tips on managing this?
CongratulationsMy DS got and accepted his appointment to West Point yesterday. Two years of struggle, worry, anger, reflection, and by and large support from people of character on this board.
My thoughts are with every DS, DD, and stakeholder on this board. May each of you driven and supportive people find your niche, and pursue ultimately what you define as happiness.
Lastly my son now how the opportunity he has dreamed of, after previous shortcomings and let downs.
Maybe I worded that poorly. It might be better said that the lack of bad news is good because that means we're still in it...even if that window is quickly closing.Indeed, no news is just that...no news. Your kid is still Schroedinger's Candidate. It should never come to this.
I keep refreshing this page --the way that your kids might keep checking their portals.
In terms of the sheer number of people on this page who have not received a decision, this is a highly unusual occurrence.
No tips, but we're in the same boat. Plan B is the Corps at Va Tech, so still a somewhat similar experience. The hard part is dealing with things like senior choice day where everyone celebrated where they were going & DS is still in limbo. With 7 AP tests coming up next week, DS has a distraction. I just wish he was able to celebrate something. We've now begun to discuss the possibility of doing NSI & turning around & racing to R Day. Not out of the question as days pass & no news either way - especially the way the NWL letter was worded. How is everybody holding up today? I think the delays with the other academies may also have a role. No one would decline until they knew all their options.I know a lot of other colleges have moved back their commitment dates due to FASFA issues. Maybe that has something to do with it.
