Your portal just threw a lot of us for a loop on the rollercoaster! I'm assuming you plan to call in the morning if no additional letters post?

You'll have to excuse my ignorance as my son isn't a recruited athlete, but did the coach have pull or seem to indicate that admission was a given or at least highly likely?
 
DS's portal is still open and he was TD in February. Weird.

I almost wish it would close, so we can 100% move on. We are at 99%, but we have seen crazy things happen this cycle and he still has a VP nom sitting there.

No not ignorant at all! No pull- West Point is not that way(fortunately or unfortunately LOL) No "pull" per say. Not a ton of info but indicated in April that it was coming down to the wire- a prep year will prob be likely- But the cool thing is- offered to pay to go to any JUCo he chooses and they would pay, picking his classes of course. Still no official correspondence. We only started the process this year on October- kinda late to the party.

Thanks for the explanation. Is the prep year the civilian prep offered through AOG or is it something different for athletes?

We had a meeting with my son's FFR a couple weeks ago and he asked if DS would be interested in civilian prep? Nothing has been officially offered though. It really does seem like a great option. I hope it works out for you!

Yes, a civilian prep, a college with an ROTC program preferred and a place he can keep up his practice, but not a D1 school. He has many offers for D1, but really wants to go to WP- so that is our trek- just not a direct path, veering a bit and will head that way again for the fall.

Did anybody wake up to good news this morning? There have been no changes to DS's portal, so we continue to wait.

Still nothing for me. I emailed my FFR to see if he knew anything, because my plan B is asking for a timeline regarding west point decisions. He said he'll do some poking around to try and found out what's going on.

My DS got his QNS in February and it's still open. Never say never though. I have talked to people who's portals were closed quickly this year. I stopped trying to figure out admissions.

Congratulations! Super happy for you.

However, I'm also very confused. Why are they appointing candidates who have already been given TWEs as opposed to those of us who haven't gotten any communication at all?
