In terms of athletics, you're looking good, but a very large percentage of cadets were team captains of a sport. I had two sports and got in so 3 is good. Your extracurriculars and leadership roles look good but your GPA and SAT could use some work, although I know that it's hard if not impossible to take it these days. Fill out everything on time and get those academics up and you'll have a very high chance of getting in imo.

Maybe try taking the ACT, if you cannot get in to take the SAT. It really comes down to how competitive your congressional district is, that will be your competition; do everything in your control, be the best you and leave everything on mat.

Good luck!

Here is the tough part. You don’t know what you don’t know. Your competition. The best you can do is your best. Max your physical, retake standardized tests if progress is possible. Practice interviews and do that over and over with an unforgiving crowd. Find things that you are passionate about and be able to explain your role and how you made this a positive.

Hey current plebe here!

Honestly, I think your profile speaks for itself. The GPA and SAT are in a great range, and the fact that you have demonstrated your leadership and athletic skills through student body positions and varsity level sports is key. Those numbers will place you in a good standing among your peers in the overall Cadet Candidate Score (CCS).

My SAT was a 1350, but as @bt18 stated, try to take the ACT as well! I took the ACT twice and received a super-score of 34 (USMA super-scores!!), which I think greatly increased my chances...if you are into STEM, I would definitely recommend the ACT as the science portion was not too difficult and the math is easier.

Now, considering you stated that you have done 4 semesters of high school so far, you just finished your first semester of junior year correct? You still have plenty of time to add onto your resume! I think it would be important to try to become a team captain of one of those sports (whichever you enjoy most or are best at) and continue until the end of senior year (I understand it is hard with Covid right now but hopefully this will resolve soon!) just to show to USMA that you can be dedicated to that specific sport; they prefer solid dedication and leadership in one item than participation in several. Same with student body.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions! Good luck!

Youre resume appears strong. I would recommend getting the SAT score up a bit and take the ACT as the Sidthesquid35 said. You didn't say what level your courses were (Honors, AP, etc.), so that may matter. I'm not sure how the rating of a HS is used (perhaps someone could advise on that). Good luck!

This is a good start.

Improve your gpa. Improve your verbal score on the SAT. Make strong connections with your junior year teachers so they will provide great evaluations/recommendations, think about how to tell your “story” so that you will stand out as more than a statistic, reach out to your FFR and RC early. Excel on the CFA.

Don’t worry about SLE. Participate in Boys State.
