I am currently in the process of doing my army ROTC application and i noticed my SSN is wrong but i cant click to change it. I could start over since im only around 30 minutes in but i really dont want to. What should I do?

log out, log back in and click on High School Students on the left menu it will bring up the app and u can change your ss#

it doesnt let you chance it, but it is okay im just making a new one and i just read it says "this is your only opportunity to enter ur SSN." im just glad i caught it as soon as i did, haha

But now you're potentially screwing up an application for the real person with that SSN. So if that person now tries to open a new application with the first SSN you entered, he or she cannot because you already took it. You should probably contact Cadet Command via email or phone (not sure address/number, other people here know them), and advise them of the situation. It is highly unlikely in the grand scheme of things that the real holder of that SSN will apply for an AROTC scholarship this year, just in terms of how many SSNs there are as compared to how many people apply for scholarships each year, but you never know.

I agree with SCcandidate2015.

When my son filled out his application for the last round of scholarships he input his name wrong. He listed his middle name as his first name. He did not realize the mistake until he had completed the first page (The registration page). Once he clicked OK we noticed that his name was wrong on all the pages and we stopped. We tried to change the name but like you found that you couldn't make the change.

We thought about starting another application but wondered if that might mess things up. We called Cadet Command, his POC was out of the office so we had to wait a week to talk to her. In the meantime he got a letter saying he had to schedule an interview, of course the name was still wrong, funny thing was he had not completed any of the application other then the first page.

We finally got hold of his POC, she was very helpful and changed the name form their end and it now was correct on the online application. He continued filling out the application and everything went fine.

They did tell us that had he started a new application it could very well of messed up the whole application process. I would call Cadet Command right away and have them change your SS# to the correct one. Do Not start a new application, it is a risk not worth taking.

Good Luck
