I wanted to get my club to make cards to send to an entire company for Thanksgiving because I know that they won't be able to go home for Thanksgiving. My question is, how many people are usually in a company? Also, how do I go about sending cards to them? I have no idea where to even start for a specific address or process of doing this. . Also, how long do cards usually take before they arrive? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

What a nice idea! Truly in the spirit of Thanksgiving.

I recommend calling the USNA Chaplains office and talking with them, as this is a morale-booster idea. Chaplains know how to do this kind of stuff and work with the chain of command to iron out details. They will also be aware of any other initiatives going on and will play traffic controller.

The Brigade usually has 1000-1200 midshipmen in each class; a rule of thumb Brigade size is 4200. There are 30 companies, so 1/30 of the Brigade. I didn’t go looking up exact numbers, but this gives you some scale.

Thank you so much for this information. If I computed correctly, about 120 per company (4,200/30)? I checked out the link, but I don't know which chaplain to call. Should I contact the Battalion Chaplain for the battalion in which 12th company is (chain of command), or should I contact the command chaplain so he's aware of what's going on?

You can contact any chaplain and surely you’ll get routed to the right place. And figure about 140 per company — give or take. (4200/30) 😉

Batt Chaps is a good place to start, if you have already targeted a company. He or she will keep head Chaps briefed.
