Question for those lucky ones who have an appointment!

DS has a LOA (all things but medical have been in place). His waiver was granted yesterday on DoDMERB. Today the DoDMERB date completed was finally marked in the USMMA portal.

How can we anticipate his portal changing to notify him he is PFQ and an appointment offered and how soon? This portal looks very basic compared to others?

I’m wondering if they’ll let the nominating source know first? My son’s portal isn’t updated yet but he received a call from the Senator’s office yesterday. They congratulated him on his offer. They told him to expect a FedEx package today (seems quick for that - we’ll see).

My DS received an appointment (via Fed-Ex) mid-February and the portal still hasn't updated. The information in the BFE would lead one to believe that the portal won't update (acceptance/decline form to be scanned and emailed, etc.).

Is that the pretty commemorative jacket covered letter with a picture on inside or just a letter saying congrats get ALLLLLL this stuff done (BFE)?

This is very good to know. Thank you for sharing this info!

I don’t recall seeing anything different in DSs portal after he received appointment. He got email from senator and calls from both reps then the FedEx. But the portal never showed anything, but haven’t checked again since so not 100% sure! The FedEx has a folder with the appointment and other info and the form to accept. Hope you get it soon!!

The pretty jacket-covered letter. It had a few other forms and pieces of information included. I'm assuming the long list of things to get done doesn't get sent out until after the candidate accepts.

Admissions always notifies MOC nominating authority first and gives them 48 hours or so in case they want to notify the candidate. Appointment is sent via FedEx after that. Save the appointment folder to use at the plebe candidate's senior award ceremony. At this time of year, appointees have until 01 May to accept or decline. For the appointments after that date, they are given a specific time to answer, anywhere from a week to only 24 hours later in the cycle. Good luck to everyone.
