It is not a 6 week indoc like Plebe summer …. NAPS indoc is 3 weeks long starting about July 22/23 this year.

We took our DD to NAPS this past April 4-6 (Fri-Sat) just so she can get her mind set and hit the ground running .... She shadowed another NAPSter (Friday April 5th) who happens to be from her/our HS from the prior year …. Our DD loves the place. She is ready to go now.

The School (Perry Hall) and Dorm (Ripley) sit right next to other …. Athletic field is adjacent to Ripley dorm …. It is in a Beautiful setting. The Program is impressive.

Newport is beautiful area too …. Cliff walk over near the Historic Mansions (Vanderbilts) is awesome too.

You get leave the Main Gate on weekends during liberty and go for some Picturesque Runs.

I am the Napster that was shadowed haha
- I have a thread answering questions about NAPS as I am here right now. We get a monthly E-1 pay, had a 3 week indoctrination period in July-August, and we have to still serve 5 years afterward. I enlisted in USN reserves in July and have begun my outprocessing toward becoming a MIDN as of a few weeks ago. Over the summer we are on leave without pay active duty, and we report for I Day ahead of time which is where we get discharged from enlisted service
