I injured my shoulder and knee due to track practice and my scores are lower than what I’d usually get.

At the moment, I have a score of 63 for push-ups (44 repetitions), a 71 for situps (60 repetitions), and a 60 for the 2 mile run (15:54).

How big of a factor is the PFA for ROTC scholarship selection boards?

Everything else on my application is finished and strong (pending interview).

Thank you

Hey, on the ROTC scholarship application its a total of 150 points. Also its only 1 minute for each and only 1 mile!

Oh, and why would you willingly leave points on the table? Plus physical fitness is a huge, massive, gigantic indicator of future potential. Especially since there isn’t much to discriminate with. I would routinely lower scores on a board for a low PFA score. 🤷‍♂️

I have a sprained shoulder and have had runners knee for the past couple months. Don’t know what I can do to get scores up at this point.

also, why is the table and description on page 4 and 5 a 2- mile run and not a 1- mile run?

If you read it, it says that you have to do the 1 mile for the scholarship and 2 mile if you are a recipient.
Ok yeah I think I got the PFA and APFT mixed up, thanks for clarifying.

You have until March 1st to submit everything for the 3rd board. Unless you really damaged your shoulder, it should be healed up before then. The knee might take a little longer, but it might feel better for the test if you take it easy.

Can you wait a week or two to take the test?

I heard that you have a higher chance of getting something the earlier you submit your app. That being said, I was just gonna suck it up and do it on Monday. The scores I posted above are with my injuries

Not to pile on, but advice. You barely squeaked by with the minimums for the APFT. shoulder and knee aren't required for the situps.
When you heal you need to work out - don’t slack over the summer.

Too late for you but for anyone reading this in the future, review my post “board insights”. Go to the board with your best file.

Yeah you’re right. I’ll be doing that. Hopefully I get something next year. Thank you.
