I know that NROTC you must select 5 schools on the application. Is there a quantity for AFROTC? DD will be starting the process and she has 3 schools she will definitely apply to for AFROTC, but if she needs more she has to decide.
Thanks!

7 is the number that sticks in my head, but I can't swear to that. I also expect (but don't know) that you do not HAVE to list 7. BTW, I think for Air Force this information is for their uses. You can actually take the scholarship to any college you like although you need to let them know which one at some point. I expect this is all specified in the application. Not sure if the process is open for next class but you might find more info here: https://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/high-school/application/

No the application isn’t open yet which is why I asked. NROTC has a nice information document but could not find similar for AF.
Thanks

Well, I guess I would prepare to find out about 7 through online investigation (which is a lot of schools) and narrow it down once you have access to the app. May be work but college is something that deserves a thorough investigation.

She has 5... no clue the other 2 bc she needs 2 more for NROTC as well🤔

I would suggest taking the time to think through which schools you put on that list because if you are awarded a scholarship, the units at those schools get notified and those ROTC units see you as candidates who have that school as one of your top choices. If the ROTC office has a relationship with the Admissions office, they are more likely to advocate for you if they think you are motivated to go to that school. Long way of saying make sure you put your top choice schools on the list.

Is this true for AFROTC ? I know I’ve seen it with AROTC and NROTC

Yes, the AFROTC program at the college I put as my top choice contacted me letting me know they would work with the college admissions team on an acceptance.

Also, I don't think you need any specific amount. I listed 3, and ended up adding one after receiving a scholarship.

How much influence a unit of any ROTC program has, depends on the school. Sometimes the school needs the bucks from a full tuition scholarship. Sometimes not. Some schools are so competitive they can have their pick and won't care. It all depends.
