Hey all, I am a class of 2026 applicant here. I've been working on my application for a bit now and I've noticed the DoDMERB. How do I start this? I've heard that it takes a while to complete.

At a certain point in your application process, I believe that opens up for you.

If you haven’t gone to the DoDMERB home page and read every menu item and link in the left-hand menu, I strongly recommend it. Info on the process, FAQs, etc. Do not skim - there are important process notes in every link, even the Contacts section.

This is one area to consult with your parents on, for early childhood history, actual diagnoses, whereabouts of records, etc. Take your time on the medical history and understand what you are saying “yes” or “no” to, reading all guidance before starting. Every year we have applicants who rush through, hit “yes” when they mean “no,” x a block when they shouldn’t, fib about drug experimentation and realize they have to keep telling the same lie in all sorts of paperwork, don’t proofread or otherwise fall down a rabbit hole they can’t go back and easily change, or generate needless AMI (additional medical information) requests.

Here’s a screenshot of the page with the menu on the left. 6077DB03-6B09-436B-8088-D9BB2E3E74A3.jpeg

So should I just focus on getting my application complete as quickly as possible?

Listen to what the O-6 just said.

There is great wisdom and truth there.

Submit your essays. This is the response that I got from NE regional tech.
"After your essays are submitted and after July 1 your file should be picked up automatically and your contact information sent to DODMERB."

When you answer medical questions, do not self-diagnose. Candidates sometimes end up in remedial hell, or get disqualified, by reporting things they have misdiagnosed and were never treated for.

Rule of Thumb: If it hasn't been diagnosed by a medical professional, it doesn't exist.

Did you have to turn in transcripts?
Nope. I turned in my Personal Statements, one LOR, offical SAT scores, the Candidate Personal Data Record, and the Candidate Background Experience Form. The 6th green check mark was for no college transcripts required...cus I'm not in college!

Weird, I have all of those and 3/4 LORs but still listed as No Action. Might have to contact regional technician.

There is not one recipe for all candidates; it is early in the cycle. Admissions has its own process, method and timeline for various parts of the process as it relates to each candidate. Continue working on this application, your alternate plans and other elements, the things you can control.

When the Service Academy is ready, it triggers the DoDMERB process.

For others new to the process, if the applicant is applying to, say, USMA and USAFA, and USMA toggles the DoDMERB process, USAFA will also access that same information. There is no duplication of the exam process; the applicant needs to do nothing.

I'm applying for the class of 26' too and just started my DoDMERB process last week. It opened up for me after I finished 6 parts of my application.
The only thing I was confused about is what my login information is. I'm assuming that it's the same as my West Point login info but I wasn't sure.
