Hi All ,

Should I talk to my RC if my application is being considered for LOA? If yes then how do I bring this up to him/her?

I have a strong file as told by RC and only CFA , nomination, interview missing.

thank you all .

If by that you mean should I ask if I'm being considered for an LOA - then my answer would be no.

1. He won't know
2. If he did know he's not going to, or at least not supposed to, tell you.
3. Strikes me, at least, as being pretty arrogant.
4. If you have a question that you don't know how to ask, then you probably shouldn't ask it.

Of course this is all just one man's opinion and worth only what you paid for it.

Good luck with your application.

Just don’t.
Let that be one thing you don’t spend any time on.
The SAs give those for whatever reason they choose as they fill out a class.
You have no way of comparing yourself against any other candidate from the “whole candidate” perspective.
The majority of cadets and midshipmen who are offered appointments do not get one.
You could leave an impression of yourself that you might not intend.
Invest the time working on your alternate plans and enjoying your senior year, as odd as it may be.

thank you everyone for your expert advice and wisdom.
You are most welcome.
Do your best to “keep your eyes in the boat,” as sea service people say. Don’t look left or right and overthink what other people are posting for “stats” and LOA receipts. Just focus on what you can control.

Every candidate that applies is considered for an LOA, but only those that meet specific talent and diversity criteria are offered once they complete enough of their application (official transcripts, SAT/ACT scores submitted and interview complete). Asking if you are being considered for an LOA is not recommended because the answer will always be yes and all you accomplish is that you are telling your RC that you think you deserve one based on criteria that you don't know.
