I don't mean to annoy anyone, but help - transferring

Understood. Thanks for the help, I'll try my best to get into a calc class...is it typical for most freshmen who are reapplying to the Academies to take Calc?

The people who typically reapply are not those who are seemingly hell bent on making every thread they start a counterintuitive, back-asswards, endless downward spiral of repetitive questions that are obviously directed toward you having a bound and determined desire for being handheld, seemingly hoping that you'll stumble upon an easy way to achieve your goals. There isn't an easy way to get in, dude....there's really no free ticket laying around, I sincerely promise you that.

while I mostly agree with what you're saying, maybe leave this kind of stuff to people who have made it into the academy...

Hey Bulldog, appreciate the comments. I'll admit that my questions were a little non-nonsensical at the time, and probably came off as annoying. But I'm choosing my course selection right now, specifically for the chance to reapply at one of the service academies...and I have a question. If you're not going to help me, then don't post.

So to ask the USMA guys, do they pay more attention to calculus as opposed to pre calc? Thanks.

Take calc. It's what you'll take as a plebe at WP and that's what you want your courseloadto model. I'm going into my third semester of college level Calculus. I was QNS with an A in engineering Calc 1 and 2. Granted other factors led to that decision of which I am unaware of.

Thanks man, I'll definitely try to do that.

Like someone else said, you want your courseload to mimic the plebe courseload as much as possible. If you can handle chemistry, calculus, English/lit, etc. at your college, it shows the admissions department that you'll probably be able to handle that same load as a plebe at USMA.

Jct95: just a point of reference, but the RC do look at these pages, Hofstra is a unique enough college that it will be pretty easy to figure out who you are. Keep that in mind when asking repetitive questions that have been answered.

For Math, you should show progress from HS. If you took calc senior year, how would it look if you took pre-cal in college? Likewise, if you only got to algebra in HS, pre-cal is probably best since you'd likely fail at college calc.
